So Many Bikes. So Little Time. Whether you’re looking to upgrade from your current rig, searching for the right fit for your first bike, or have never pedaled dirt and are interested to know what all the buzz is about, there will be something for you at our bike demo area. Several of the industry’s top manufacturers including Specialized, Ibis, Pivot, Cannondale, Diamondback, MarinNiner, Rocky Mountain, Salsa, Santa Cruz, Trek and Yeti  will have bikes on hand for you to try out on the short track, pump track, dirt jumps, and even on the trails at Nisene and SDSF (shuttle anyone?). Knowledgeable demo crews will assist with fit and sizing, and will dial you in for your weight and riding style. Discovering  the bike of your dreams couldn’t be made easier…and it’s free! How much sweeter could we make this for you? Also — Shimano and SRAM will be on hand to service your rigs!

When: Saturday, April 13 & Sunday, April 14.
See schedule for bike demo course availability. Generally, you can demo a bike for 1-3 hours. Visit vendor demo trucks for specific time limitations. All demo bikes are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Where: Aptos Village Festival Expo

Who & How Much:
  • All ages free!
Bring your driver’s license and credit card for collateral (or a guardian with those credentials if you’re under 18). No pre-registration necessary.

Why: Why NOT? Trying out the bike of your dreams has never been easier.

What if it rains? Bike demos will be available rain or shine. Day-of rain may cause the pump track, dirt jumps, and/or some trails in SDSF to be closed by race officials. Bike demos will still be available, but the riding options may be limited.

What: Demo bikes suitable for all festival courses will be on hand. Demo vendors have a limited selection of pedals, so it’s a good idea to bring your own to ensure you have the right match for your footwear.

Mountain bike options include
  • Cross Country (XC) / Trail (TR) bikes are best suited for a quick trial on the beginner to intermediate level Short Track, a longer ride up into the adjacent Forest of Nisene Marks State Park, or intermediate to advanced technical riding on the Soquel Demonstration State Forest (SDSF) trails.
  • All Mountain (AM) / Downhill (DH) bikes are usually a bit heavier due to longer travel suspensions and are most enjoyed shuttling up to to the top of SDSF and riding intermediate to advanced technical single track.
Dirt Jump (DJ) bikes are fun to roll on the beginner to intermediate level Pump Track or jump on the advanced level Post Office Jumps.
